Recent Events


APRIL 2013

Weekend camping trip at Camp Bashore and participating in the United Way Day of Caring.  We planted over 300 trees at Stoever's Dam Park.

March 2012

The troop participated in a weekend camping trip at Kreider's Cabin with the Cub Pack Webelos.  The boys worked on advancement while helping the Webelos with some of their advancements.

The troop participated in a 15 mile hike of the Appalacian Trail from the Dehart Dam to Rousch Gap and then out the railroad bed to Goldmine Road.  While the weather didn't cooperate the boys still had a really good time.  This was the first of two shakedown hikes for the 50 mile hike that will be held in June.

February 2012

The troop spent the weekend of February 17-19 at Fort Indiantown Gap.  The boys toured the military museum, took a guided tour of the Memorial at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, and visited several static displays of military equipment.  The boys also worked on their orienteering skills by participating in an orienteering exercise. 

January 2012

The troop spent the weekend at the Leb-Lanc Cabin in Tioga County.  On Saturday, most of the troop went snowboarding at Ski Sawmill.

The troop held its yearly All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner.  This was the main fundraiser for the troop for the year.  The money raised through this fundraiser will help offset the cost of monthly camping trips to the boys, will pay for awards, and will cover equipment expenses of the troop.

December 2011

The troop participated in a Lock-In (overnighter) at Salem Lutheran Church.  The boys played video games, board games, watched movies and had a really fun time.

November 2011 

The troop participated in the bag distribution and collection for the Scouting for Food Program and collected 390 bags of food for the Lebanon County Christian Ministries.

The troop performed a conservation project at the Union Canal Tunnel Park where we opened a brand new trail connecting two already existing trails at the park.

The troop attended Camp Bashore for its November Camping Trip.  This was a joint trip between the Webelos of Pack 412 and Pack 405 and the boys of Troop 412.

The troop attended the Hershey Bear Hockey game on 11/23 against the Providence Bruins.

10/22-10/23/2011 - Troop 412 traveled to Philadelphia and visited the Philadelphia Zoo before leaving to spend the night on the USS New Jersey Battleship.  The scouts were given a tour of the ship and slept overnight in the same bunks that the New Jersey sailors slept in.  The troop had dinner aboard the ship Saturday night and also breakfast on Sunday before departing to head home.

10/1/2011 - The troop spent part of the day helping Joe H. with his Eagle Scout project.  The project consisted of planting seedlings along a creek in South Annville Township.  There were appoximately 16 individuals that helped with this project.

9/16-9/18/2011 - The troop spent the weekend in Gettysburg camping in McMillan's Woods.  The troop spent Saturday hiking the Historic Town of Gettysburg and touring the battlefield and learning more about the battle that took place their.  This trip allowed the boys to complete the five segment Gettysburg patch. 

8/27/2011 - Troop 412 hosted a recruitment picnic from 1-3pm at Coleman's Park pavilion #2.  This event was for boys 11-17 interested in joining a boy scout troop or finding more out about the scouting program.  Turnout for the event was low due to Hurrican Irene but those in attendance had a good time.  Due to the weather, another recruitment event will be held in the next month or two as part of a regular troop meeting. 

8/19-8/21/2011 - Troop 412 went to Washington D.C. and camped at the Greenbelt Park 12 miles outside of Washington.  After a quick breakfast Saturday morning it was off to the Greenbelt Metro station.  The scouts enjoyed the ride into town on the train, for many it was their first time on a train.  In D.C. the troop visited the Museums of Natural History, American History, Air and Space and the National Archives to see the Constitution.  They walked to the U.S. Capitol building and then through the Mall stopping at the Washington Memorial, WWII Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial.  After a long day the troop enjoyed a pizza dinner before returning to the Greenbelt Park Saturday night.

7/17-23/2011 - Boy Scout Troop 412, sponsored by Salem Lutheran Church, spent a week at Camp Bashore Scout Reservation.  The troop spent the week working on merit badges and advancement requirements while also participating in activities such as swimming, boating, rock climbing and repelling, rifle and archery shooting, and much more.  The troop will had a total of 22 scouts and 3 leaders participate in this event.  The troop is made up of 27 boys from the City of Lebanon and the surrounding area.  The troop meets Wednesday nights from 7 to 8:30 pm at Salem Lutheran Church, 8th & Willow Streets, Lebanon.  Boys interested in joining the troop may visit a meeting or contact the troop through the "contact our troop" link at the top of this website.


6/24-26/2011 - Boy Scout Troop 412, sponsored by Salem Lutheran Church, spent the weekend in Lewes, DE.  The troop camped at Holly Lake campground, spent Saturday at Henelopen State Park beach, visited the Henelopen State Park nature center as part of Oceanography merit badge, and visited the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk Saturday night. 

6/22/2011 - Eight members of Troop 412 assisted with the "Free Noon Meal" which was served at Salem Lutheran Church.  The "Free Noon Meal" is a meal prepared for and served to anyone in the community needing a meal.  The "Free Noon Meal" is served everyday at a different location around the county by a different group.  The meal on June 22nd was sponsored by Salem Lutheran Church and the troop participated as part of "service to others".  The troop donated 20 hours of service to the community through this project.
